Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for 2022/23 Storm Water Erosion Control Project (Clear Creek Bank Stabilization) RESOLUTION NO. 23-621 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2022/23 STORM WATER EROSION CONTROL PROJECT (CLEAR CREEK BANK STABILIZATION) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2022/23 Storm Water Erosion Control (Clear Creek Bank Stabilization); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 8th day of November, 2023, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 3rd day of October, 2023; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Iowa Earth Works of Huxley, Iowa, in the amount of $75,615.40 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Iowa Earth Works of Huxley, Iowa, in the amount of$75,615.40 dated the 14th day of November, 2023, for the 2022/23 Storm Water Erosion Control (Clear Creek Bank Stabilization) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Great Midwest Insurance Company, of Houston, Texas, as surety thereon, in the amount of$75,615.40 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
