Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for Construction of 2022/23 Traffic Signal Program (State Ave and Mortensen Road) RESOLUTION NO. 23-603 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2022/23 TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROGRAM (STATE AVE & MORTENSEN ROAD) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2022/23 Traffic Signal Program (State Ave & Mortensen Road); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 18th day of October, 2023, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 25th day of September, 2023; and, WHEREAS,the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Kline Electric d.b.a. Heartland Underground Solutions, of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$140,755 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Kline Electric d.b.a. Heartland Underground Solutions, of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$140,755 dated the 24th day of October, 2023, for the 2022/23 Traffic Signal Program (State Ave & Mortensen Road) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with IMT Insurance Company, of West Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$140,755 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
