RESOLUTION APPROVING SUSPENSION OF PARKING REGULATIONS FOR THE
MUCKY DUCK PUB FOR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, the Mucky Duck Pub (3100 South Duff Avenue) is planning to host a
celebration of the Pub's loth Anniversary on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, this event will include an outdoor alcohol service area in the establishment's
parking lot with food and music; and,
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate this event, the Mucky Duck Pub is requesting an
expansion of the existing outdoor service area and suspension of parking regulations along the
south side Crystal Street from 110 Crystal Street to Opal Drive from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS,the suspension of parking regulations along Crystal Street will allow the Pub's
patrons to use that area for parking, since the existing parking lot would be dedicated to the
expanded outdoor service area; and,
WHEREAS,both the Police and Fire Department staff have reviewed the emergency action
plan prepared by the applicant, and organizers plan to hire a private security firm for the event and
will obtain a Noise Permit from the Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the requests to expand the existing outdoor service area and suspend parking regulations to
allow parking along the south side of Crystal Street from 110 Crystal Street to Opal Drive from
2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on September 16, 2023, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 12th day of September, 2023.
