RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR DEMOLITION OF BUILDING AT 621 GRAND AVENUE
IN CONJUCTION WITH THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
FOR THE PLANNING AND HOUSING DEPARTMENT,
CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, bids and proposals were received on the 141h day of July, 2023, for the
asbestos removal and demolition of building at 621 Grand Avenue in connection with the City's
2022-23 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Slum and Blight Removal Program for
the Planning and Housing Department, City of Ames, Iowa. Said bids have now been carefully
analyzed.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1: Award of contract is made as follows:
RK Demolition of Slater, Iowa in the amount not to exceed$77,380 (contingent on
receipt of acceptable performance and payment bonds)
Section 2: The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said contract for
and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal of the City thereto.
Section 3: All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 27th day of July, 2023.
