HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for Scaffolding and Related Services and Supply Contract at Power Plant RESOLUTION NO. 23-300 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL AND BOND FOR SCAFFOLDING AND RELATED SERVICES AND SUPPLY CONTRACT AT THE POWER PLANT FOR ELECTRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this contract consists of providing and installing scaffolding,bracing, and fall protection when needed at the City's Power Plant, which was awarded to hth companies, inc., of Union, Missouri on June 25, 2019; and, WHEREAS, this contract has the option for the City to renew in one-year increments for up to four additional years. The period from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, is the fourth of the four-renewal periods; and, WHEREAS, the contract rates in the renewal period are increased 2% compared to the current year for labor, travel and subsistence, and for equipment and tools. The approved FY 2023/24 Power Plant operating budget includes $85,000 for these services. Invoices will be based on contract rates for time and materials for services that are actually received. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the contract renewal with hth companies, inc, Union, Missouri, for the Scaffolding and Related Services and Supplies Contract for the one-year period from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, in an amount not-to-exceed $85,000 as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and to hth companies, inc., of Union, Missouri dated the 25th day of July, 2019, for the Scaffolding and Related Services and Supplies Contract at the Power Plant for the Electric Services Department as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America of Hartford, Connecticut, as surety thereon, in the amount of $85,000 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
