RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
POWER PLANT UNIT 8 ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR
INSULATION AND LAGGING PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that
certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been
designated as the Power Plant Unit 8 Electrostatic Precipitator Insulation and Lagging project; and,
pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 25th day of January, 2023, as called for
in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and filed
with the City Clerk on the 13th day of December, 2022; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Incorp Industries,LLC,
of Evansville, Indiana, in the amount of$1,603,640 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been
executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
as follows:
Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Incorp Industries, LLC, of
Evansville, Indiana, in the amount of$1,603,640 dated the 14th day of February, 2023, for
the Power Plant Unit 8 Electrostatic Precipitator Insulation and Lagging project as provided
for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the
performance bond of the said contractor with Harco National Insurance Company, of
Norristown, Pennsylvania, as surety thereon, in the amount of $1,603,640 filed in
connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
