DECISION & ORDER
This application came before the Board to modify an existing Special Use Permit (SUP) that
authorized a stealth monopole cell tower at 2801 Grand Avenue, which was approved in October
2001. The applicant proposes to remove the existing antennas and stealth canisters and replace
them with larger antennas and 46-inch stealth canisters. Municipal code sections 29.1307 and
29.1503 require application before the Board to amend the existing SUP. City Planner,
Benjamin Campbell, presented the Staff Report to the Board and recommended approval subject
to a condition regarding the final color of the pole and alignment of the fittings and straps of the
cannisters to ensure a consistent aesthetic and appearance.
The Board adopted the findings of the Staff Report as presented and reviewed the proposed
modifications under the cell site (§29.1307), general (§29.1503(4)(a)), and commercial standards
(§29.1503(4)(c)) of the municipal code.
FINDINGS AND DECISION
The Board considered the facts as detailed above and provided in the Staff Report and all
evidence provided at the hearing. The Board adopted the findings in the Staff report and found
that the relevant standards were met and established by the Applicant.
