FACTS
This Application originally came before the Board in December 2021, and the Applicant was
granted until May 13, 2022, to reestablish a non-conforming residential use in the HOC Zoning
District for the property located at 520 E. Lincoln Way. Planner Julie Gould presented a request
from the Applicant to extend the deadline until October 26, 2022, under the same terms and
conditions, due to delays attributable to the contractor hired by the property owner. Planner
Gould presented the Staff Report in support of the extension, and the Board accepted its findings
as evidence. The Board also heard testimony from the Applicant.
FINDINGS AND DECISION
The Board considered the facts as detailed above and provided in the Staff Report and all
evidence provided at the hearing. The Board adopted the findings in the Staff report and found
that the extension should be granted until October 26, 2022, under the same terms and conditions
provided in the initial decision.
ORDER
WHEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the request of the Applicant for an extension of
additional time, until October 26, 2022, for the property owner (current or future) to complete all
required improvements at 520 E. Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa, be GRANTED.
Any person desiring to appeal this decision to a court of record may do so within thirty (30) days
after the filing of this decision.
