HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Relocation of 161kV Transmission Line from Ames Plant to NE Ankeny RESOLUTION NO. 22-573 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AMES-ANKENY 161 KV TRANSMISSION RELOCATION IA DOT I-35 FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Relocation of 161 kV Transmission Line from Ames Plant to NE Ankeny for Iowa DOT; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 13th day of October, 2022, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 13th day of September, 2022; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Primoris Electric, Inc., of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, in the amount of$2,171,669.20 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Primoris Electric, Inc., of Inver Grove Heights, in the amount of$2,171,669.20 dated the 25th day of October, 2022, for the Relocation of 161 kV Transmission Line from Ames Plant to NE Ankeny as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Federal Insurance Company, of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey and The Continental Insurance Company of Chicago, Illinois, as surety thereon,in the amount of$2,171,669.20 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
