Our HOA has emailed you the letter of objection earlier. Please check your mailbox to make sure you received it. I'm writing to express my objection to the Home Occupation application for 3020 Evergreen Cir, Ames, IA. As a resident of the Northridge neighborhood, I feel having this commercial business running from our residential area is going to create a lot of issues. A stitch in Time Upholstery is advertising on Google map. It's regular business hours are Monday through Friday, gam to 5pm.. I don't see how they can guarantee that they only get 10 car traffic per day since listing out the address and office hours online is an open invitation to the public to come to the circle to check out this business. Here's the link to the business on Google map. Our residential covenant clearly stated "That all lots shall be known and described as residential lots and shall not be improved, used,or occupied for other than private single-family residential purposes.". All our properties are restricted by this covenant, I don't see why this property is an exception. Here is the link to our covenant: http://north ridge- ames.us/Covenants/12th%20addition%20restrictive%20covenants.PDF Please include my objection in the package you are going to present to the board tonight. If possible I would like to keep my name confidential. COMMENTS: To AMES ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT, I am writing this message serving as the Northridge Board President 2020 and VP in 2019. There is currently a request for a Special Home Occupation Permit for 3020 Evergreen Circle that has been circulated in the Northridge 12th Addition development the past several weeks. There have been several letters placed in my personal mailbox and also emails sent to the Northridge Homeowners Association from neighboring residents not wanting this Special Home Occupation Permit approved in their neighborhood. Written comments that have been: . They are very concerned about the higher volume of cars, trucks, motorcycles, or other commercial vehicles delivering or picking up materials. . They have expressed the concern of parking congestion on the street. . They are concerned for the safety of their children playing in the neighborhood, riding bikes that will be exposed to other vehicle hazards. • Having a commercial business in a neighborhood also brings potential or crime into the neighborhood. . They have requested the HOA to help them in their concern about maintaining a peaceful quiet neighborhood. With these concerns raised, the Northridge Home Owners Association (HOA)would ask the AMES ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT to deny this request for a Special Home Occupation Permit in this neighborhood. Sincerely, Northridge Home Owners Association (HOA) Ron Frantzen 515-460-6814 Cell Northridge Board President 2020 CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This E-mail(including the attachments)is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act,18 U.S.C.§§2510-2521,is confidential and may be legally privileged. If you are not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any retention, dissemination, distribution,or copying of this communication is strictly prohibited. Please reply to the sender that you have received the message in error, then delete it.Thank You. I am writing the email to express my decision to not agree special home occupation permit on 3020 Evergreen circle. The reasons are 1) the biggest reason I chosen this neighborhood to buy my house is because it is quite, far away from business area and sophisticated neighborhood. Home occupation business will break the wonderful environment that we are having now. 2) we can not give one exception, otherwise more exceptions will follow. If that happens, it will impact our house price and raise security issue. We totally understand that home business will help them save cost and would like to help them in other ways. Thank you!
