Members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment;
Please consider the approval of variance request for 2007 Greeley Street.
The location of the subject property and the proposed construction of an open porch
would not further complicate the street corner. The addition would help modernize and update
the property. This update and modernization will help in creating a better environment for the
sorority's outdoor activities. These activities would be better hosted on the porch area rather
than on the front lawn. This will limit other neighbors from any disturbances from activities.
Again,please consider the approval of the variance request for 2007 Greeley Street at
your meeting on September 27,2017

I am writing on behalf of Iota Sigma Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi located at 2007 Greeley Street in Ames,
Iowa with the request for approval of the plans being proposed. For both financial and aesthetic reasons,
this renovation, though it is a minimal encroachment on the required setback, is in the best interests of
the chapter, the organization, the university and the surrounding property owners. It is in no way
detrimental to the university or surrounding property owners and, in fact, is an investment that will
enhance long-term property values.
