Home My WebLink About~Master - Resolution Approving Contract and Bond for 2021-22 Water System Improvements Program - US Highway 69 RESOLUTION NO. 22-539 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR 2021/22 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM—US HIGHWAY 69 (SOUTH DUFFAVENUE, GRAND AVENUE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water System Improvements Program; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 27th day of September, 2022, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 21St day of September, 2022; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Synergy Contracting, LLC, of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$2,286,813.80 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Synergy Contracting, LLC, of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$2,286,813.80 dated the 27th day of September, 2022, for the 2021/22 Water System Improvements Program as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Selective Insurance Company of America of Branchville, New Jersey, as surety thereon, in the amount of$2,286,813.80 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
