Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of Boiler Tube Spray Coating & Related Services for the Power Plant RESOLUTION NO. 22-449 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BOILER TUBE SPRAY COATING & RELATED SERVICES FOR THE POWER PLANT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Boiler Tube Spray Coating&Related Services for the Power Plant;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 13th day of July,2022, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 13th day of June, 2022; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Integrated Global Services,Inc., of Richmond,Virginia, in an amount not to exceed $435,000 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Integrated Global Services,Inc., of Richmond,Virginia,in an amount not to exceed$435,000 dated the 26th day of July,2022, for the Boiler Tube Spray Coating&Related Services for the Power Plant as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Great Midwest Insurance Company, of Houston, Texas, as surety thereon, in the amount of$435,000 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 91h day of August, 2022. Renee all, City Clerk John A.
