Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of Water Treatment Plant Five-Year Well Rehabilitation Project RESOLUTION NO. 22-447 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WATER TREATMENT PLANT FIVE-YEAR WELL REHABILITATION PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Water Treatment Plant Five-Year Well Rehabilitation Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 1 P day of July,2022, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Water Treatment Plant Department and filed with the City Clerk on the loth day of June, 2022; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of The Northway Corporation,of Marion, Iowa, in the amount of$141,625 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and The Northway Corporation, of Marion,Iowa,in the amount of$141,625 dated the 26th day of July,2022,for the Water Treatment Plant Five-Year Well Rehabilitation as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with United Fire & Casualty Company, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$141,625 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict.
