RESOLUTION NO. 22-342
RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING GRANTING AN
UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL UTILITY EASEMENT TO INTERSTATE POWER AND
LIGHT COMPANY ON THE PRAIRIE VIEW INDUSTRIAL LIFT STATION SITE
LOCATED AT 207 S. TELLER AVENUE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,Interstate Power and Light Company(Alliant Energy),an Iowa Corporation,had
requested an underground electrical utility easement to be located along the east side of property
addressed as 207 S. Teller Avenue and extending west into the Prairie View Industrial Lift Station site;
and,
WHEREAS, the easement will be used to place switch back gear for the overhead electrical
lines on the east side of Teller Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the switch back gear that will be placed in the easement will be the point where
the new underground lines will switch back to the existing overhead power lines on the east side of
Teller Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, following notice and public hearing, the City will determine if this proposal is
appropriate.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AMES, IOWA, THAT:
1. The public hearing regarding the proposal to consider granting an underground electrical
utility easement shall be held on July 12, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to provide notice of the public hearing as required by
Iowa Code Section 362.3.
