Kellogg Avenue) Project RESOLUTION NO. 22-236 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2020/21 CONCRETE PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS (FORD STREET,BELL AVENUE, S. 17TH STREET, S. KELLOGG AVENUE)PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the 2020/21 Concrete Pavement Improvements (Ford Street, Bell Avenue, S. 17th Street, S. Kellogg Avenue); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 20th day of April, 2022, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 2 1'day of March, 2022; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Con-Struct,Inc.,of Ames,Iowa, in the amount of$666,666 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa,and Con-Struct,Inc., of Ames, Iowa,in the amount of$666,666 dated the 26' day of April, 2022, for the 2020/21 Concrete Pavement Improvements(Ford Street,Bell Avenue, S. 17th Street, S. Kellogg Avenue)as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual), of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$666,666 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS IOth day of May, 2022. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John A.
