HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Ames Intermodal Facility License Agreement for Incidential Use of Premises by Ames Police Department RESOLUTION NO. 22-222 RESOLUTION APPROVING AMES INTERMODAL FACILITY LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR INCIDENTAL USE OF PREMISES BY AMES POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the Ames Intermodal Facility currently has three tenants: Executive Express, Jefferson Lines, and the Ames Police Department; and, WHEREAS,the Ames Police Department has had a no-cost lease in this facility since 2012 and shares space of the facility's management office with the Iowa State University Parking Division; and, WHEREAS,currently the Ames Police Department has a five-year lease for occupancy that will expire on June 30, 2022; and, WHEREAS, occupancy of the management office by the Ames Police Department has strengthened security at the facility and has minimized incidents of vandalism to the property; and, WHEREAS, sharing the management office with the Parking Division and Iowa State University has been a successful utilization of resources and space for both parties; and, WHEREAS,at the Ames Transit Board meeting on February 23,2022,CyRide staff received informal guidance to prepare a new five-year Lease Agreement with the Ames Police Department; and, WHEREAS, CyRide had worked with the Ames Police Department and the Legal Department to prepare a new Lease Agreement, and no significant changes were made to the previous Agreement; and, WHEREAS,the following changes were made to the previous Lease Agreement: 1)Contract term dates; 2)Updates to contact information for the Chief of Police,Mayor, and Transit Director; and, 3)Updates to CyRide's address; and, WHEREAS, the Agreement was approved by the Transit Board of Trustees at its meeting on April 27, 2022. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the five-year,no cost Agreement between the Ames Transit Agency and the City of Ames Police Department for shared use of the Ames Intermodal Facility management office from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027, is hereby approved.
