HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Closure of the North 150 Feet of the Alley between Community Choice Credit Union and the Food Truck Park RESOLUTION NO. 22-219 RESOLUTION APPROVING CLOSURE OF THE NORTH 150 FEET OF THE ALLEY BETWEEN COMMUNITY CHOICE CREDIT UNION AND THE FOOD TRUCK PARC FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,the Community Choice Credit Union,located at 212 E.Lincoln Way,operates a food truck space across the alley from the Credit Union, called The Parc; and, WHEREAS, the Credit Union is hosing"The Parc Spring Kickoff' on May 20 - 21, 2022, and the event is open to the public and involves several food trucks and local vendors, along with yard games and music from a DJ; and, WHEREAS,although the event takes place entirely on private property,the event organizers are requesting the closure of the city-owned alley between the Credit Union and the Parc, from E. Lincoln Way to a point approximately 150 feet south; and, WHEREAS, the alley is too narrow to accommodate substantial traffic, and it is necessary to keep it clear for the two days for the event to facilitate ingress and egress of the food trucks at the event; and, WHEREAS, the Credit Union and the Parc are the only two properties that will be directly adjacent to the closure and the properties located along the alley to the south of the closure will have access to the alley from SE 2"d Street; and, WHEREAS,organizers are expecting approximately 250 attendees,and they have provided staff with an Emergency Safety Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the closure of the north 150 feet of the alley between the Community Choice Credit Union and the Food Truck Parc for"The Park Spring Kickoff' from May 20 - 21, 2022, is hereby approved.
