RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
CYRIDE ELECTRIC BUS SYSTEM UPGRADES PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the CyRide
Electric Bus System;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 9th day of March,2022,
as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Ames Transit Agency Department
and filed with the City Clerk on the 8th day of February, 2022; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Jaspering Electric,Inc.,of Ames,
Iowa, in the amount of$282,800 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project;
and,
WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Jaspering Electric, Inc., of Ames,
Iowa, in the amount of$282,800 dated the 12th day of April, 2022, for the CyRide Electric Bus
System as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,
and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company(Mutual), of
Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$282,800 filed in connection therewith,be
and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 26" day of April, 2022.
