RESOLUTION APPROVING CLOSURE OF STREETS FOR
ART WALK EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS,Ames Main Street(AMS)is hosting its annual Art Walk on Thursday,June 2,
2022; and,
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate this event, Ames Main Street has requested the closure of
Douglas Avenue, from Main Street to Fifth Street from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS,the Art Walk is a popular annual event that adds vitality to the Downtown,and
the organizers have experience in hosting this and many other similar events throughout the year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the closure of Douglas Avenue, from Main Street to Fifth Street from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,
during the Art Walk event on Thursday, June 2, 2022, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 12`'' day of April, 2022.
