HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Addendum to Iowa DOT Funding Agreement for 2018/19 Shared Use Path System Expansion (Trail Connection South of Lincoln Way) RESOLUTION NO. 22-071 RESOLUTION APPROVING ADDENDUM TO IOWA DOT FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR 2018/19 SHARED USE PATH SYSTEM EXPANSION (TRAIL CONNECTION SOUTH OF LINCOLN WAY) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, on August 13, 2019, City Council approved an Iowa Department of Transportation(DOT)Agreement for MPO/STBG-TAP funding for the 2018/19 Shared Use Path Expansion- Trail Connection South of Lincoln Way; and, WHEREAS, the construction contract was awarded to Howrey Construction, Inc., of Rockwell City,Iowa,on September 22,2020,with revised project limits from Beedle Drive east to Franklin Park to coordinate with the timing of other projects; and, WHEREAS,this project is substantially complete with minor punch-list items and the project audit remaining; and, WHEREAS, as part of the Iowa DOT project audit requirements, the original Agreement must be revised to reflect the adjusted project limits; and, WHEREAS, the segment from Franklin Park to South Wilmoth Avenue is currently under design with construction anticipated in late 2022 or early 2023; and, WHEREAS, the most easterly segment from South Wilmoth Avenue to State Avenue is being constructed in Spring 2022 as part of the Baker Subdivision improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Addendum to the Iowa DOT Funding Agreement for the 2018/19 Shared Use Path System Expansion(Trail Connection South of Lincoln Way) is hereby approved.
