RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING UP TO $700,000 IN UNALLOCATED G.O. BONDS
FOR THE IOWAY CREEK RESTORATION AND FLOOD MITIGATION PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, on February 11, 2020, City Council approved the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) Grant Funding Agreement for the stream bank restoration project
providing flood mitigation in the Ioway Creek channel; and,
WHEREAS,a central component included the conveyance improvements within the channel
approximately 2,000 feet on either side of the South Duff Avenue bridge; and,
WHEREAS, the estimated costs and funding of the project are as follows:
- Expenditures $6,055,054.43
-Funding Shown in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) $5,395,450.00
-Potential Local Funding Shortfall $ 659,604.43
-Available Bond Savings $1,318,124.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the utilization of up to$700,000 in unallocated G.O.Bonds for the Ioway Creek Restoration and
Flood Mitigation Project is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 9`' day of November, 2021.
