HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Street Closures for Ames High School Homecoming Parade RESOLUTION NO. 21-452 RESOLUTION APPROVING STREET CLOSURES FOR AMES HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,Ames High School has requested to hold its Homecoming Parade on Monday, September 20, 2021; and WHEREAS,the parade will start on Main Street west of Clark Avenue and proceed east past Douglas Avenue to the CBD Lot entrance; and, WHEREAS,the parade entries will disperse from the CBD Lot,and it will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately 45 to 60 minutes; and, WHEREAS, the help facilitate this event, the Homecoming Committee asks that the City Council approve the following street closures from 6:00 p.m. to approximately 7:30 p.m.: Fifth Street from Grand Avenue to Pearle Avenue, Pearle Avenue, Main Street from Pearle Avenue to Duff Avenue, Clark Avenue from north of the CBD lot exit to Fifth Street, Burnett Avenue from Main Street to Fifth Street,and Kellogg Avenue from north of the CBD lot exit to Main Street;and, NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City ofAmes,Iowa that the aforementioned street closures for the Ames High School Homecoming Parade on September 20, 2021, are hereby approved ADOPTED THIS 24`h day of August, 2021.
