HomeMy WebLinkAboutA2 CITY OF Ames" Smart Choice Notice of Application Completeness and Acceptance May 6, 2014 Mark Schill Schill & Sons, Inc. 112 Crystal Street Ames,IA 50010 RE: Special Use Permit for 2105 SE 5`h Street, Case#ZBA-14-13 Dear Mr. Schill: Thank you for submitting your application for a Special Use Permit for a Retail Sales and Service use greater than 3,000 sf located at 2105 SE 5th Street. The City of Ames Planning and Housing Department is pleased to assist with the project. We find that the application and materials you submitted on April 28, 2014 are complete in accordance with Ames Municipal Code Section 29.1502(3)(c),with the following exceptions: 1. Landscape Plan —At a minimum, landscaping will be required around the perimeter of the parking area. Please refer to Ames Municipal Code Section 29.403(4) for landscaping requirements. From our phone conversation today, I understand landscaping will be added to the plan and two full-size copies submitted before Wednesday, May 14. 2. Erosion Control Plan — This plan is required for all properties over one-half acre in size. Although the submitted plan includes notes on erosion control features, please contact Jake Moore, Public Works (239-5287) as soon as possible to determine of a separate plan is required. In addition please provide to our office as soon as possible one additional copy of the building plans and elevations and one additional copy of the stormwater management plan. This item has been assigned to Charlie Kuester as the Case Planner for the project, and has been routed to the Development Review Committee (DRC) to discuss at the DRC staff meeting on Wednesday May 14, 2014. Preliminary comments will be sent to you that day via email. If necessary, a following meeting will be. scheduled with you (or your representative) to discuss further any steps or revisions that may be necessary in order for the project to comply with the Ames Municipal Code and other applicable requirements. At that meeting we will also discuss the potential date for a hearing before the Zoning board of Adjustment. You will be notified on the Wednesday prior, if you are invited to a Friday meeting.
