HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - American Rescue Plan Act Grant Agreement for the Ames Municipal Airport RESOLUTION NO. 21-440 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE AMES MUNICIPAL AIRPORT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, on July 22, 2021, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sent the City a Grant Agreement for the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA); and, WHEREAS, ARPA included $8 billion in funds to be awarded nationally as economic assistance to eligible U.S. airports to prevent,prepare for,and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic; and, WHEREAS, to distribute these funds, the FAA has established the Airport Rescue Grants; and, WHEREAS,under the proposed Agreement,Ames will receive up to a maximum of$59,000 to assist with operational and maintenance expenses incurred after January 20, 2020, for the next four years; and, WHEREAS, these funds do not have a local match requirement; and, WHEREAS, staff is planning to use the Grant to replace several obsolete T-Hangar doors as part of a larger T-Hangar door replacement project to repair damage from the 2020 Derecho,which is being paid by a combination of insurance and FEMA funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant Agreement for the Ames Municipal Airport in an amount not to exceed$59,000 is hereby approved.
