Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of Sludge Pumping Building Improvements Project RESOLUTION NO. 21-417 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SLUDGE PUMPING BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Sludge Pumping Building Improvements Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 23rd day of June, 2021, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Water and Pollution Control Facility Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 24th day of May, 2021; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Woodruff Construction, Inc., of Ames,Iowa,in the amount of$369,700 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Woodruff Construction, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$369,700 dated the 13th day of July,2021, for the Sludge Pumping Building Improvements Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$369,700 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 27th day of July, 2021. r Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John A.
