HomeMy WebLinkAboutA4 Picture Description:
1 Northbound on Florida Avenue approaching our proposed facility.
2 County maintenance building that will be sitting in front of our storage buildings.
3 Doughboy elevator located just to the north of the county maintenance building.
4 This will be the driveway entrance point to our storage facility from Florida Avenue on
the south side of the county maintenance building.
5 The black dash represent approximately where the north edge of our concrete driveway
will be located. The county truck, wing blade and road scraper are all located on our
property. The above grade fuel storage tank seen in the picture will probably remain
in this location. But the traffic pattern for the county will definitely be changed once
our driveway is in place. The county has been informed of the changes that will be coming.
6 This is the rear view (west side) of the county maintenance building. This time of year they
have a sand/salt pile of material which creates a muddy drive all winter. This picture was
taken at single digit temperatures and yet there is standing water on the site. We are just trying
to help the zoning commission understand this will not change. We feel our proposed facility
will give an improved appearance to the area.
7 Another picture of the rear(west side) of the maintenance building.
8 Location of picture I was standing on south side of our lot. There is a field post marking our
property line which is hard to see in the tuft of grass. I did a straight picture on line of site to
give you a rough idea where our property line runs. Again you can see how much the county
has come over on our property. This line is a rough indication where we will be pushing snow
and where the fence will be located. When there is a lot of snow, the snow will be pushed
against the fence from both directions.
9 Picture to give you a feel for the area.
10 Snow on the ground yet the ground is muddy due to salt content being spread in area when
county dump trucks are being loaded. Better picture of post showing our property line.
11 Close up picture.
12 Picture of what the kiosk will look like inside the brick entry building.
13 Picture of commercial black chain link fence.
14 Schematic drawing of our entry building to our site. The south side siding will not be this
noticeable because we will be building alongside of the Winkler building as close as we are
allowed.
15 Pictures taken of black aluminum ornate 6' fencing located between Clark and Kellogg
downtown. I was directed by my contractor to view what can happen with snow plowing. This
is just north of the railroad tracks. So plowing is done on only one side of the fence, not both
sides which will be the case on our site adjacent to county maintenance building. This type of
fencing is nice and decorative when placed further from driveways. As you can see there has
been damage done to this fencing. Therefore we are being directed by our fence contractor to
use black commercial chain link fence. Black chain link will give the fence an upscale
residential appearance. We are using 6' fencing for security purpose.
16 Iowa drought map. (X) marks Story county. As you can see Story County is still located in a
severe drought area. We will be placing a drip system with individual drippers by each bush
and tree. This drip system we will use has the ability to deliver anywhere from 1-10 gallons of
water per hour. I have arranged to purchase water from Doug Havik the owner of Imported
Cars LTD located at the corner of Reliable and Florida. He is our neighbor next door to our
property. We will also be purchasing water for mortar mix when installing the brick for our
entry building with the kiosk.
