Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of 2018/19 Main Street Pavers - Burnett to Kellogg RESOLUTION NO. 21-395 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2018/19 MAIN STREET PAVERS -BURNETT TO KELLOGG FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the 2018/19 Main Street Pavers-Burnett to Kellogg;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 16tn day of June, 2021, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 7th day of May, 2021; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Con-Struct,Inc.,of Ames,Iowa, in the amount of $367,620 (Base Bid + Alt 3 and Alt 4) is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Con-Struct, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$367,620 dated the 22"a day of June, 2021, for the 2018/19 Main Street Pavers -Burnett to Kellogg as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company(Mutual),of Des Moines, Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$367,620 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 13" day of July, 2021. r Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John A.
