RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR NON-ASBESTOS
INSTALLATION AND RELATED SERVICES FOR THE POWER PLANT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this contract involves the removal, repair, and reinstallation of non-asbestos
insulation of all types used at the City's Power Plant; and,
WHEREAS,on July 23,2019,City Council awarded a contract to HTH Companies,Inc.,of
Union, Missouri, for the Non-Asbestos Insulation and Related Services and Supplies Contract for
the Power Plant; and,
WHEREAS,the contract allows the City to renew the contract for up to four additional one-
year terms, and this would be the second of four optional terms; and,
WHEREAS, the contract's rate provision increases rates at fixed percentages above the
previous fiscal year's contracted rates at time of renewal,and the annual rate increase is 2%for both
Labor and Travel & Subsistence; and,
WHEREAS,the approved FY 2021/22 Power Plant operating budget includes$150,000 for
these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the contract renewal with HTH Companies, Inc., of Union, Missouri, for the Non-Asbestos
Insulation and Related Services for the Power Plant, from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, in
an amount not to exceed$150,000 is hereby approved.
