Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for Construction of Fire Station #1 HVAC Replacement Project RESOLUTION NO. 21-222 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATION#1 HVAC REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Fire Station#1 HVAC Replacement Project;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 24' day of March, 2021, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Ames Fire Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 22"d day of March, 2021; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Mechanical Comfort, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$114,434 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Mechanical Comfort,Inc.,of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$114,434 dated the 13th day of April,2021, for the Fire Station#1 HVAC Replacement Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company(Mutual),of West Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$114,434 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 27th day of April, 2021. r Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John A.
