The addresses are: 209, 211, 217, 219, 225 and 227 South 5t' Street. A majority of our properties lie just to the east of the South Meadow Apartments. As you are aware, in July of this year a fire devastated the apartment building at 301 S. 5t'Street. Paula Shriver, the property manager for South Meadow Housing Cooperative, is a wonderful neighbor for us. Her company provides more than adequate parking for all their residents. They operate and maintain their units to the highest level. We have been shown the proposed building plans and we heartily approve on all levels and in every way—we are anxious to see the building rebuilt! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, J& L Sorenson Enterprises, c.a. ' - James G. Sorenson Lisa E. Sorenson October 29, 2012 To Whom It May Concern with the City of Ames: I lived at 301 S. 5tn Street #303 from August 1, 2008 until the recent fire in the building on July 15, 2012. It has been brought to my attention that the South Meadow Housing Cooperative does not have enough parking spaces according to the City of Ames to build their building back to its original state. Parking has never been an issue at this property for me. I was always able to find many choices to park my car at all hours of the day or night during the past four years I lived there. I recommend they be given sincere consideration in this matter and be allowed to build their building back. The Shriver's are excellent landlords and have a reputation of taking great care of their residents. Please assist them in re-building their building by granting the special use permit. South Meadow Apartments have provided safe and affordable housing for many people in Ames over the last thirty five years. I look forward to seeing their damaged building be restored so more people can be given a place to live in this city. Sincerely, n i Juliya Taborskaya
