RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR PURCHASE OF ROCK SALT FOR 2021/22 ICE CONTROL PROGRAM
FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, bids and proposals were received on the 3l't day of March, 2021, for the
purchase of Rock Salt for the 2021/22 Ice Control Program for the Public Works Department, City
of Ames, Iowa. Said bids have now been carefully analyzed.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows:
Section 1: Award of contract is made as follows:
To Independent Salt Company of Kanopolis,Kansas,in the amount of$76.08 per ton
(in the estimated total amount of$190,200)
Section 2: The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said contract for and
on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal of the City thereto.
Section 3: All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 13`h day of April, 2021.
