RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING GRANTING EASEMENT FOR THE ISU PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
OVER UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, on November 20, 2020, City staff and Iowa State University(ISU) staff held
a courtesy development review of a Pedestrian Bridge project that would span University Boulevard
right-of-way; and,
WHEREAS,the bridge will connect Jack Trice Stadium to the stadium's athletic fields and
satellite parking areas; and,
WHEREAS, as part of the project, an Easement Agreement between ISU and the City will
allow the bridge's structure to be located within and over top of the City's right-of-way; and,
WHEREAS, before the City can approve an easement on public right-of-way, there needs
to be a public hearing; and,
WHEREAS, the date of the public hearing will be set for April 13, 2021, and at the same
meeting, staff will have a final draft of the Easement Agreement and Plat, reviewed by both the
City's and ISU's legal staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the date of the public hearing on April 13, 2021, regarding granting an easement for the ISU
Pedestrian Bridge over University Boulevard is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 23rd day of March, 2021.
