HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Various Urban Revitalizatoin Tax Exemptions for Improvements Performed on Various Properties with Urban Revitalization Areas RESOLUTION NO. 21-100 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITH URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,the Crawford School Condominiums has submitted an application dated January 14, 2021, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 415 Stanton Avenue for Unit 211; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the 415 Stanton Avenue Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,the Crawford School Condominiums has submitted an application dated January 21, 2021, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 415 Stanton Avenue for Unit 316; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the 415 Stanton Avenue Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,the Acacia Fraternity,has submitted an application dated September 17,2020, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 138 Gray Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Impacted Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, the Farm House Fraternity has submitted an application dated November 1, 2020, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 311 Ash Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Impacted Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Springhill Suites Hotel has submitted an application dated Januaryl 8,2021,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 1810 SE 16t1i Street; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the Southeast 16`h Street Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provision of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
