HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of the Water Treatment Plant Dehumidification Project RESOLUTION NO. 21-047 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WATER TREATMENT PLANT DEHUMIDIFICATION PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Water Treatment Plant Dehumidification Project; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 23rd day of December,2020, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Water and Pollution Control Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 20th day of November, 2020; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Mechanical Comfort, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$262,940 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Mechanical Comfort,Inc.,of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$262,940 dated the 12th day of January, 2021, for the Water Treatment Plant Dehumidification Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual), of West Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$262,940 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 26th day of January, 2021. r Diane R.
