RE: Special Use Permit for 340 South Dayton Avenue: ZBA-11-26
Dear Mr. Williams:
Thank you for submitting the application for a Special Use Permit for the changes to the existing auto recycling
center at 340 South Dayton Avenue. The City of Ames Planning and Housing Department is pleased to assist
with the project. We find that the application and materials you submitted on November 30,2011 are complete,
in accordance with Ames Municipal Code Section 29.1502(3)(c).
This item will be assigned to a staff Planner and routed to the Development Review Committee(DRC)to discuss
at the DRC staff meeting on Wednesday,December 14,2011.Preliminary comments will be sent to you that day
via email.If necessary,a following meeting will be scheduled with you(or your representative)to discuss further
any steps or revisions that may be necessary in order for the project to comply with the Ames Municipal Code
and other applicable requirements. This meeting is typically the Friday following the Wednesday DRC staff
discussion,and is tentatively setfor Friday December 16,2011.You will be contacted on the Wednesday prior,
if you are interested in attending a Friday meeting.At that meeting,we will discuss possible dates to place this
on the agenda of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
We are eager to present your application in front of the ZBA for their consideration and are willing to help in any
