RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
UNIT 8 CRANE RENOVATION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Unit
8 Crane Renovation; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 15th day of July,2020,
as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and
filed with the City Clerk on the 8th day of June, 2020; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Miner Ltd.,of Urbandale,Iowa,
in the amount of$269,876 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and Miner Ltd., of Urbandale, Iowa, in
the amount of$269,876 dated the 18th day of August, 2020, for the Unit 8 Crane Renovation as
provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the
performance bond of the said contractor with The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company, of Boston,
Massachusetts, as surety thereon,in the amount of$280,000 filed in connection therewith,be and
the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
