HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of 2018/19 Storm Water Facility Rehabilitation (Little Bluestem) RESOLUTION NO. 20-486 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2018/19 STORM WATER FACILITY REHABILITATION (LITTLE BLUESTEM) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the 2018/19 Storm Water Facility Rehabilitation (Little Bluestem); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 19th day of August, 2020, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 23rd day of July, 2020; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of J&K Contracting,of Urbandale, Iowa, in the amount of$133,233 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and J&K Contracting, of Urbandale, Iowa, in the amount of$133,233 dated the 25th day of August,2020, for the 2018/19 Storm Water Facility Rehabilitation (Little Bluestem) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with American Contractors Indemnity Company, of Los Angeles, California, as surety thereon, in the amount of $133,233 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 8th day of September, 2020. r Q:-•ter [Zd A .NX 1� .
