HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of Power Plant Maintenance Services Contract RESOLUTION NO. 20-464 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF POWER PLANT MAINTENANCE SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Power Plant Maintenance Services Contract; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 13' day of May,2020,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 10"'day of March, 2020; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Anderson Process & Instrumentation Services,LLC, of Marshalltown,Iowa,in an amount not to exceed$125,000 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Anderson Process&Instrumentation Services,LLC, of Marshalltown, Iowa, in an amount not to exceed$125,000 dated the 18th day of August, 2020, for the Power Plant Maintenance Services Contract as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Western Surety Company, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as surety thereon, in the amount of$125,000 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 25th day of August, 2020. r (:�:-,I [ZdAc.c%�1� . Diane R.
