RESOLUTION APPROVING USE OF TOM EVANS PLAZA
AND WAIVER OF FEES FOR ELECTRICITY FOR SNOW MAGIC EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, Ames Main Street plans to host its Snow Magic Celebration from December
4, 2020,through December 24, 2020; the event will kick off on December 4 with the tree-lighting
ceremony, open houses, and horse-drawn carriage rides; and,
WHEREAS,to facilitate this event,the organizers are requesting the use of Tom Evans Plaza
on December 4, for the tree-lighting ceremony, and a waiver of the fees for the electricity, and,
WHEREAS, Snow Magic provides an opportunity to draw residents and visitors to the
Downtown, and the event supports local businesses during the holiday shopping season.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the use of Tom Evans Plaza for the Snow Magic's tree-lighting ceremony on December 4,2020,
is hereby approved, and the wavier of fees for the electricity is hereby further approved.
ADOPTED THIS 18`'' day of August, 2020.
