RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF FEE FOR
BLANKET VENDING LICENSE FOR ART WALK EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, on January 14, 2020, the City Council approved requests from Ames Main
Street (AMS)to host its annual Art Walk; and,
WHEREAS,Art Walk showcases Downtown businesses and community artists and the event
was originally scheduled to take place on June 4,2020,but did not take place at that time due to the
COVID-19 pandemic; and,
WHEREAS, AMS has rescheduled the event for October 8, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m.; and,
WHEREAS,in order to facilitate this event, Ames Main Street has requested a waiver of the
fee for a Blanket Vending License; and,
WHEREAS,the Art Walk is a popular annual event that adds vitality to the Downtown,and
the organizers have experience in hosting this and many other similar events throughout the year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the waiver of fees for the Blanket Vending License for the Art Walk event on October 8,2020,
is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 18th day of August, 2020.
