Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for Construction of Power Plant Unit 8 Steam Turbine Parts Procurement RESOLUTION NO. 20-404 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF POWER PLANT UNIT 8 STEAM TURBINE PARTS PROCUREMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Power Plant Unit 8 Steam Turbine Parts Procurement; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 29th day of April,2020,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 25th day of February, 2020; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis,LLC (MD&A), of Clifton Park,New York, in the amount of$114,960.47 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Mechanical Dynamics&Analysis, LLC(MD&A),of Clifton Park,New York,in the amount of$114,960.47 dated the 14th day of July, 2020, for the Power Plant Unit 8 Steam Turbine Parts Procurement as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Federal Insurance Company of Indianapolis, Indiana, as surety thereon, in the amount of$144,960.47 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 28th day of July, 2020. r Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John A.
