RESOLUTION APPROVING RENEWAL OF PRIMARY CONTRACT
FOR UNDERGROUND TRENCHING
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, on June 25, 2019, the City Council awarded the primary contract to Ames
Trenching & Excavating, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, for Underground Trenching for Electrical Services
for the period of July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020; and,
WHEREAS,this contract contained the option for the City to renew in one-year increments
for up to four additional years; and,
WHEREAS,the FY 2020/21 fixed rates include a labor increase of 5%and no increases for
equipment and tools; and,
WHEREAS, this is the first renewal out of four maximum.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the contract renewal with Ames Trenching&Excavating,Inc., of Ames,Iowa,for the Primary
Contract for Underground Trenching, from July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021, in an amount not
to exceed $200,000 is hereby approved.
