Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving Contract Renewal for Facilities Maintenance Program fore Custodial Services at City Hall RESOLUTION NO. 20-209 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR FACILITIES MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR CUSTODIAL SERVICES AT CITY HALL FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, all cleaning and custodial services for City Hall are provided by a third parry professional cleaning service; and, WHEREAS, on May 8, 2018, the Council awarded a contract to Reliable Maintenance Company to provide custodial services for the City Hall and Community Center in the amount of $52,028.44, with additional services billed at an hourly rate of$16 for the period of July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019; and, WHEREAS, the contract also included four optional renewal periods; this would be the second optional renewal period starting July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021; and, WHEREAS,staff estimates an additional$1,000 in emergency callback work is expected for the year, for a total contract amount of$53,028.44; and, WHEREAS, the approved operating budget for FY 2020/21 includes $76,704 for cleaning services, split between the various departments; and, WHEREAS, City staff continues to monitor the performance of Reliable Maintenance Company,has provided specific feedback regarding areas where performance needs to be improved in the future, and will continue to monitor performance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the contract renewal with Reliable Maintenance Company of Des Moines, Iowa, for the FY 2020/21 Custodial Services for City Hall/Community Center in the amount of $52,028.44 plus $1,000 for emergency callback and additional work as authorized at$16.00/hour is hereby approved.
