Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Construction of the 2020 Pavement Improvements - Middle School Turnaround Project RESOLUTION NO. 20-205 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2020 PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS -MIDDLE SCHOOL TURNAROUND PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2020 Pavement Improvements - Middle School Turnaround Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 2"d day of April,2020,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Ames Transit Department and filed with the City Clerk on the loth day of March, 2020; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Jensen Builders, LTD, of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$139,700 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Jensen Builders, LTD of Des Moines,Iowa,for 2020 Pavement Improvements-Middle School Turnaround Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company(Mutual) of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon,in the amount of$139,700 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 28th day of April, 2020. r Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John A.
