SUBJECT: Menards Easement Vacations a S
BACKGROUND:
On the agenda for May 22 is a public hearing on the vacation of a sanitary sewer easement and two electric
easements on property addressed as 530 and 900 SE 16th Street. City staff requested that the City Council,
at their May 8 meeting, set May 22 as the date for this action.
At the time, staff anticipated that the final plat for Menards subdivision would be on the agenda for May
22. This subdivision would establish a new easement over the sanitary sewer in the appropriate location
(the legal description for the current easement does not match exactly the location of the sanitary sewer
line).However,the Menards subdivision is not yet ready to be placed on the agenda for action.Therefore,
staff asks that the City Council hold the public hearing at the May 22 meeting and approve the
resolution vacating the easement. The City Clerk will not release the resolution for recording until
the subdivision plat for Menards is approved and ready for recording (anticipated at the June 12
meeting).
