Add the as-built flow line elevations for the following intakes:A-1,A-2,A-3,A-6,A-13,A-20, A-21,A-28,A-34,A-41, and A-42. These elevations are needed to determine the as-built pipe slopes. 2. Double check the as-built flowline elevation of intake A-51. The given elevation indicates this intake is in a sump condition. 3. Many of the storm sewers were constructed flatter than designed with some having no slope or even a slight reverse slope. It is anticipated that they will more quickly reach capacity and will require more frequent cleaning. Therefore, the financial security for maintenance will need to include more frequent inspections and potential pipe/intake cleanings. Also note in the as-built report that the flatter slopes will require more frequent maintenance inspections. 4. In several locations there is minimal freeboard between the grate elevation and the first-floor elevation. In the as-built report, state that the overflow failure paths from all intakes may need to be regraded to assure that runoff will not enter the buildings under heavy runoff conditions. 5. Show the location and elevation of the top of the bank and emergency spillway of the retention/infiltration basin. 6. Add the as-built flowline elevations to the outlet structure detail. 7. Provide a completed City of Ames Elevation Certificate for each building. The elevation certificate can be found on page 26 of the Post Construction Storm Water Technical Guidance Documents located at: http://www.cityofames.org/home/showdocument?id=18635 8. Provide adequate vegetative cover in the basin area. Due to current weather conditions, this item can be added to the maintenance financial security amount and completed later when conditions are more favorable for planting. 9. Repair the defects noted within the as-built report and clean (jet) all existing debris and sediment from within the storm sewer system. 10. Verify that all storm water management system pipes, culverts, and structures are free of defects and clear of debris and sediment. Video inspection and/or photos of the interior of all intakes and manholes are required to show that the system is clean. 11. Submit a list of the yearly maintenance items and their estimated costs (include the cost of establishing vegetative cover in the basin area from#8 above). This estimate will be used to determine the 4-year maintenance financial security amount. 12. FYI-The security on file for installation will be released after the following: a. As-built plans are approved (satisfy the above comments). b. Financial security for 4 years of system maintenance has been accepted. 13. FYI-Financial security for maintenance can be obtained through one of the following: a. Performance Bond. Use the "Financial Security and Performance Bond"form located at: https://www.cityofa mes.org/govern ment/depa rtments-divisions-i-z/publ ic- works/stormwater-progra m b. Letter of Credit. A letter of credit will be subject to legal review before final acceptance and must be renewed until full or partial release has been authorized. c. Cash or Check. Any cash or check given for security will be deposited into a non- interest-bearing account until full or partial release has been authorized.
