ATTORNEY'S OPINION
I, Craig R. Hastings, hereby state that I am an Attorney at Law, duly
admitted to the practice of law in the State of Iowa, and a member of the firm of
Hastings & Gartin, LLP, with offices at 409 Duff, Ames, Iowa 50010. 1 further
state that I have examined the Abstract of Title to the following described real
estate, located in Story County, Iowa:
The Real Estate described on the attached Exhibit A
from the date of the root of title thereof, down to and including January 24, 2014,
at 8:00 A.M., which abstract was last certified by Abstract & Title Services of
Story County. The real estate has been subdivided and is now to be known as
Aubry Subdivision, Ames, Iowa.
Based upon information within the Abstract of Title, it is my opinion that
the fee simple title to said real estate is in THOMAS I. AUBRY and CARLA R.
AUBRY, and that said real estate is free from all encumbrances excepting,
however, the following:
a. Mortgage to Mortgage Electronic Registration System, Inc. as Nominee for
First Mortgage Company, LLC dated June 5, 2012, and recorded on June
7, 2012 as Inst. No. 12-06086 of the records of the Story County
Recorder.
It is my opinion that the real estate is further subject to easements and
restrictions of record and the Zoning and Land Use Ordinances of Ames, Iowa.

EXHIBIT A — LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Beginning at a point 198 feet West of the center of Section 27, Township 84
North, Range 24 West of the 5th PM, Ames, Iowa on the East and West Quarter
Section line, thence S 88°36' W, 132 feet on the East and West Quarter Section
Line, thence North 330 feet parallel to the North and South Quarter Section line,
thence S 88°36' W, 49.5 feet parallel to the East and West Quarter Section line,
thence N 8030' E, 334.88 feet, thence N 88036' E, 132 feet parallel to the East
and West Quarter Section Line, thence South 660 feet parallel to the North and
South Quarter Section Line to the point of beginning, containing 2.18 acres, more
or less, including the present established highway
