Dear Mr. Janssen:
The Department of Planning and Housing is in receipt of the application requesting approval of a
Major Final Plat for H&B Subdivision, Second Addition that you, as the"Applicant", submitted on
August 22,2008. These application materials have initially been reviewed by City staff to determine
if all items required by Section 23.503 of the Ames Municipal Code are included. The findings of this
initial review reveal that all required items have been included in the application received and the
Final Plat materials are ready for distribution to City departments and others to determine compliance
with City codes and adopted policies
Review.of the proposed Final Plat to determine compliance with adopted City of Ames regulations
and policies will be coordinated by a Planner in the Department of Planning and Housing. This
process will begin immediately with the distribution of application materials to the appropriate City
departments and others for their review. Within seven(7)working days of this notice(September 4,
2008), the Department of Planning and Housing will provide the Applicant with all comments
received from those reviewing the proposed Final Plat for compliance. If revisions,and/or additional
information is needed prior to proceeding to the City Council for consideration,the Applicant will be
notified. In the event that changes are necessary, the Applicant will then be responsible for the
submittal of a revised Final Plat and/or additional information necessary to bring the proposed final
plat submittal into compliance with City codes and policies. Once such revisions/additional
information is received,the.Department of Planning and Housing will again respond to the Applicant
within seven (7) working days with any changes that are necessary before proceeding to the City
Council for consideration. The Applicant may revise the application again, or may request that the
application be processed "as is."
