RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY METHANE ENGINE GENERATOR
REPLACEMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water
Pollution Control Facility Methane Engine Generator Replacement Project; and, pursuant to notice and
hearing, bids were received on the 25t1i day of September, 2019, as called for in the detailed plans and
specifications as prepared by the Water and Pollution Control Department and filed with the City Clerk on
the 26th day of August, 2019; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of The Waldinger Corporation of
Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$1,554,270 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction
of said project; and,
WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and The Waldinger Corporation of Des
Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$1,554,270 dated the 8th day of October, 2019, for the Water Pollution
Control Facility Methane Engine Generator Replacement Project as provided for in the detailed plans and
specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with
Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America of Hartford, Connecticut, as surety thereon, in the
amount of$1,554,270 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
